Neh SNOW!
The trees are finally losing their lovely cherry blossoms. They seem to bloom overnight and the first day we went outside after the trees bloomed, both boys kept telling me it was snowing. Zach told me “Mom, you’re killing me. Look at the trees, there’s snow on them” when I tried to point out there was no snow. Now that every walking path is littered with cherry blossoms Wes screeches “Neh SNOW!” every time we’re outside. From the moment I open the door until several moments after we’re in the car, over and over again “Neh SNOW!”
Cody and I took some beautiful pictures of the base and at the Statue of Liberty Park not to far away. It happened to be during festival time when we went to the park and the place was packed. Of course Wesley loved it because he could flirt with so many more Japanese people that way. I’m so going to miss Japan and how at home I feel here when we leave. I love the area and I love the way the Japanese treat my children. They’re so welcoming and always seem tickled pink when Wes goes over to play with them. I’ll even miss the covert picture snapping and people coming up and asking to have their pictures taken with the kids as well. Going to the cherry blossom festival made me realize just how close we are to leaving. Until then though, I’ll go out and enjoy the “snow” with my boys.
