A rather long Moldy update

Ugh. I thought this had posted and it didn't. Grr.

Okay so retyping:

Housing office (HO) was supposed to call at 8 am, they called at 8:45 to set up an appointment for 10 am. Cody was told the time so he could be here with me. 10:00 am we see a guy outside in his car, but he's not coming in. He finally comes to the house at 10:15 saying he was waiting for his boss. She finally shows up at 10:20 and makes some excuses for being late. Neither one of them brought any tools (not even a flashlight) to assess the situation).

We show them the mold in the vents and they say it isn't mold, it's dust. Later they say it's rust because mold doesn't grow in vents. I showed her the stuff under the bathroom, it's not mold or anything. THe water damage looks bad, but isn't dangerous or they'd have plied up the subflooring.

She went so far as to say I should vacuum more because the kids might be allergic to dust mites. I told her all the health issues we have here etc. and she blew me off with "everyone gets allergies in MO." I told her we've been allergy tested and that they aren't allergic to anything. She said that they could still be allergic to stuff. Whatever.

I had to leave a lot because the man didn't say much at all and seemed out of place so I'm not sure why he was here. The woman was very condescending and nit picked at MY house without addressing the issues they were here to look at. She said we should have been using air purifiers and dehumidifiers. That if there is dust in the vents *I* haven't cleaned enough etc. So not helpful. Thankfully Cody was here and could deal with it.

She asked me what I wanted from this and I said I want my kids to be better. That they either need to fix everything that is wrong with this house or they need to move us out. She said every house on base has mold issues so it wouldn't get better. Totally rude about it too.

I pried up some of the floor in our bathroom to check the subflooring. It's rotten and black and flakes off. But *that* didn't need to be replaced right? Whatever. We called Bioenvironmental (BE) and they are coming out so woohoo, maybe they can help us
