I'm not dead yet aka how I rearranged the house before cody came home part 1
I thought for sure Cody would kill me and he was a little cheesed at all the rearranging. It's grown on him though and now he enjoys it. It really did seem to open up the house more.
It started as a simple rearranging of the artwork. It progressed to moving the couch, the table, the tv, his computer, the boys' bed, the boys' toys, and some cabling. Yeah. He had a reason to be steamed.
It looks nice now though and he has his own computer room. So here's the view from the front door:
This is the area near the front door. The couch used to be here and scrapped along the wall apparently. There's also dirt marks from the cats laying on top of the couch. I'll have to repaint the wall, but haven't done it yet. The white canvas will be painted gray and then have the blood trail extended to it. I think I'll move the canvases around on the wall a little too, but it works for now.
This is where the tv used to live. I took half our books and put them in Cody's new computer room. I hung the non savages up on the wall where other art used to be. I also pulled out the alcohol bottles we have that match my color scheme. I wasn't expecting to find bottles that color, but they work. Notice Cody's gnome on the floor and the hello kitty pirate art.
This is my 25 cent fish bowl I bought at a thrift store and painted. The idea came about because of the fish I killed in Japan. I tried to flush them before the kids saw the dead fish, but apparently Zach saw me. It got to the point that Zach thought every morning you wake up and flush a fish down the potty. I was relieved when one morning came and no new fish had died. Relieved until 4 year old Zach said "What fish will you flush today mommy?'
This is the hello pirate painting I did. I heart it. Next to it are pirate patches and buttons that I plan on handing out on halloween. I'll need to get a bigger bucket though since the white one doesn't hold it all.
The alcohol bottles. The bird one is a decanter I found at the thrift store. It was pretty cheap and it's freaking heavy. Cody loved it. The whiskey bottle by the jiggelo book is a three section bottle. Once Cody drinks it all, I'll use it for something else.
The savages are now above the couch. I shortened the couch by one section (which went in cody's computer room). We can pull it out if we're having lots of people over, but the 5 section couch was just too long for this room.
My heart is dead inside mobile. It's awaiting doctor who photos and some lyrics, but I hung it up anyway
The new tv area. The teal hanging lanterns don't have a light kit yet, but I'm working on it. I hung them up so the boys can't play with them and break the paper lanterns before I even get to use them. Behind the curtain is the currently messy craft area.
The center piece on the table. The candle is brand new and covered in beads. It was found at the thrift store for 50 cents. Not a bad deal. The fish are salt and pepper shakers.
