The Kitchen

After a lot of stress, we've finally finished painting the kitchen. It wasn't without some mishaps of course. First we bought a shade of red that was too orange, but thankfully I'd bought a small jar instead of a gallon. Then we had to primer and finally we got down to painting and it took several coats of it. We had to remove all the drawers and cabinet fronts and it took us 3 days to do the whole thing.
Somewhere in there Wesley got in the paint. He was supposed to be watching TV with Cody, but Cody looked up and Wes was gone. Cody knew that Wes had to be in the paint and even though Wes didn't have much of a head start he managed to get two handprints on one of the cabinets and was arm pit deep in to the gallon of paint. Cody said we caught him red handed... haha... bad pun dear. Anyway, clean up was a pia and Wes was just covered in paint. We had to throw away his clothing and the washrag I used on him, but he didn't get any on the hall carpet and just on the kitchen floor which was easily cleaned.
So after a ton of work and loads of paint, the cabinets are finished and i love it. It looks very cheery to me and makes me smile when I look at it despite the work involved. We're planning on putting a shelf over the sink (and painting it red to match) and then my dad is making an R out of metal for above the stove. We may or may not do flames in metal (about 5 inches tall) on the top of the counters. I'm still iffy on that one. All in all it was a good thing
