Thanks B.E. ~ A mold house update

We had BE (bioenvironmental) over to take photos of the mold. The guy who came over was totally disgusted with the things he took photos of that day. Just totally grossed out. Very polite man though and I really appreciated him coming out to our house for the photos.

I then called maintenance (HM) to replace the insulation as per our agreement after they'd previously come out to inspect the insulation. When they were here last, Housing told them to just replace it all and HM said I would need to call and schedule it. I couldn't let them replace it though until BE took their photos. So I called and said I needed to schedule the insulation replacement. The lady who answered said that they'd have to do an inspection first. I said that had already been done and HM had been given the go ahead to do it. She asked my addressed and I gave it. She then got a snotty tone to her voice and said that a specific person at HO had told them they didn't have to do it any more. WTHeck? Ummm okay. And they were going to tell me this when exactly? She said I could call HO and talk to this specific person about it.

I can not deal with this person so Cody has been trying to contact her, but she's always out of the office and hasn't called him back in over a week. Today we were going to talk to BE to find out what to do next and as luck would have it the NCOIC (non commissioned officer in charge) of BE came to deliver papers to Cody about the house. It's a big packet of information and the results of BE's investigation. The NCOIC was also hand delivering a copy to HO.

Reading this packet makes me very very happy. First it goes in to the conditions of the house and says in no uncertain terms that we have several kinds of mold and that BE contacted our doctors and the doctors confirmed we have been in to see them multiple times over what the doctors think are mold related illnesses. It also spells out in no uncertain terms what needs to be done on the house and that HO has 5 days from when they receive the building materials to get started (or maybe it's complete) the project. I still need to read over this packet a lot more, but it was very very good news to me and I finally feel we're getting some where. I know the NCOIC of BE was on our side after the first time he visited. He was a very considerate man that listened to my concerns (the whole laundry list) and didn't brush me off as a bored housewife like the HO/HM people seemed to do.

So hopefully this will finally get us somewhere. We'll have to wait and see.
