The Christmas Party

This year's Christmas party was a themed one with the theme being "Christmas in ancient times." I had thought about wearing a vintage dress from the 50s and calling it good, but was told that would be horrid. While visiting Erin, I found this really pretty ancient Greek looking dress and it fit perfectly. At $11, really couldn't beat the price either. Thank you Recycled clothing store in the Flying Monkey Arts Warehouse of Huntsville Alabama for finding it for me and selling it to me for such a great price.
Last night was the party and my dress was perfect. I added some flowers to my hair and used my Aunt's beaded purse that she gave (lent?) me several years ago. I had the perfect shoes and necklace at home so aside from the dress, the only thing I had to buy were the flowers and I'd have bought those sometime this week anyway.
I must say the themed party was fun and could have been more so if more people had gotten in to the spirit of it. What I didn't enjoy was some Chief using his rank to collect "taxes" on the pretend money we had to earn and later use to buy one of five gifts that were auctioned off. They had an Ipod for auction and even with $2300 I didn't win because this Chief gave the prize to an airman. I say gave because he seemed to pull money out of his arse for just about every prize and I'm fairly certain they all went to airman. Not that that is bad, but at least be up front that you already know who you want the prizes to go to instead of making it seem like the rest of us poor slobs have a chance at them. I ended up buying some drinks and gift certificates with my fake money and passed them out to random people. Although that was fun too, I thought the way it was handled was rather poor.
Cody and I went to use our gift certificates at the Class six and put the $10.01 (combined total of two certificates) towards a nice bottle of crown royal. We then went home and chatted with the babysitter a while. She's a nice kid with way over restrictive parents and that's all I'll say about that. I drove the babysitter home, and we called it a night. Cody was ever so kind to take some pictures for me of my pretty dress and I thought I'd post them as well.
