Wes art

I saw this idea in a magazine for a rather large canvas that they painted and then stuck tiny lights in in a starburst pattern with the canvas having three star bursts. It looked really cute and I decided to try it at home. I went to Micheal's and bought a $4.99 (on sale yay) piece of canvas that was 18 x 24. I took it home and it sat in the corner of my room for a couple weeks.

Today I decided to do the project for my room with it and discovered that you barely push the lights through. I had pushed them all the way through and I didn't even have enough lights, half the canvas was lightless. I thought it was a doomed project and then decided perhaps Wesley could fix it with me.

Together we drew a picture. Wesley drew our house in pencil and I went over his lines with crayon. We then colored in the house with crayons as Wesley dictated which color went where. We then decided that the sky needs to be painted. I have no paint though so we will have to pick some up tomorrow and finish the project. Wesley wants to hang it over his desk and plug it in at night as his night light. I think that's a very cool idea.

He also wants more canvases and some paint to paint them with too. This is good news for me because that's what I bought him for Christmas. I bought him various canvases, paint, paint brushes, googly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaners, a tool box, stapler etc. It's one hell of an awesome gift for him and it was incredibly cheap to put it all together. I've been buying art supplies on clearance when I see them and have been saving them up. This Christmas it'll be the perfect gift for him.

He thinks this is the only canvas he'll get to do though and he was proudly showing it off. Without further ado, Wesley's art.
