The ERD

Cody and I finally got to sit down and talk about moving. He's going to go get the paperwork started today so we can do an ERD (early return of dependents). I'll leave here (hopefully) around the first week of September, probably towards the end of that week. Maybe the 5ish. It all depends on when we can get tickets. I don't want to leave too early since he gets his wisdom teeth pulled on the 1st. Can't leave the man home alone afterall and he needs someone to sign him out at the dentist office.

So the way it looks now: I'll leave with the boys. I have the DVD players and what not for the plane ride to Las Vegas. My dad is going to pick us up in Vegas. We'll spend a week or so in Havasu so the boys can say hi to everyone and then my dad is going to drive to MO with me so I don't have to do it alone. I'd love to just fly out there, but dad bought us a car. He was supposed to sell our car for us when we came to Japan and it was stolen. Dad said he'd pay us for it, but he forgot and Cody and I never brought it up. We didn't need the money and I didn't want it to be an issue with my dad. So dad felt bad the car was stolen and bought us a car. I'm still not sure what kind it is, but hey free car so I'm not complaining at all. So that means a road trip and I'm so glad my dad can go on that with me. Road trips with him are funner now that I'm an adult. I'm sure it's something my boys will remember too. Or at least Zach will.

So... Cody will be here by himself for about a month. I think it'll be good for him. He can take care of what he needs to and still have time to do just Cody stuff: play computer games, go out with the guys etc. I really enjoyed coming home in Feb after the boys and I had been gone for a month. Everyone needs some time to themselves and Cody never really takes it unless I make him take it. I know, I know who needs a month though right? :-p We're going to pay the Ninja cleaning lady to come clean our house once everything is packed out. We we're planning on doing that anyway, but it'll be easier on Cody this way as well. He's putting my car up at the lemon lot and it should sell quickly since it's high PSC season here. That means we'll get the price we want on it so WOOHOO. I can set up the house at our next base while he's taking care of final details here and we won't be living in hotels for as long as we did last time.

We're going through the house together tonight and I'm listing all the things that are FMO furniture and things he can throw away when we leave plus things that need to come in our unaccompanied baggage. Since I'll be able to get our house before he leaves, he can send some stuff to me as well. I'll also be stateside and can replace a lot of things we've needed but didn't want to pay shipping on.

Zach will start school in MO and then I can start looking for daycare for Wes. I find out soon if I got in to the college there. I'm not sure why I wouldn't but you never know. Wes will be in daycare either way though because if I don't start college, I'm getting a job.

I know there are a ton of details I'm forgetting to type out, but that's okay. Cody is getting the paper work started today and with any luck I'll be in MO by September and Cody will be there in October. I've loved Japan, but I'm so ready to move on to the next big adventure and the next house to set up.
