Does it ever end?
Between the vomit and the telemarketers, I'm going insane.
The boys are sick. Again. Wes starting throwing up at 1 am on Tuesday. He'd finally fall back asleep only to wake up and throw up again. He ended up doing it another 3 or 4 times. Poor little guy. I was hoping Zach wouldn't catch it, but I woke up this morning and Zach was throwing up too. No school for him and he was just sick a couple weeks ago. Cody still hasn't shaken the bug he caught on the way over here. Oddly enough I'm the only one that isn't sick.
Then there are the phone calls. We've had two different magazine companies call. One of them put a $1 pending charge on our bank account. We were worried about it because Cody never gave them any information and neither did I. Although it appears to be a $1 pending charge, we've had stuff at like the gas station where it shows up as $1 and then puts in the real amount later. So we ended up calling USAA and we had to get Cody a new card number. They said to keep watching our account because we can't dispute the charge until it actually posts. I hope they call back again because I'm going to rip them a new one.
Then there was the call from a police scholarship thing. I was tired and didn't know quite what it was about. The guy said they had a gold and silver membership and which one would I like this year?
um neither.
but you've always come through for us in the past and we need your donation more then we needed it last year.
That's impossible because last year I was over in Japan with my husband. He served three years over there and we just moved here 3 weeks ago.
Oh. Well now would still be a great time to donate
no thanks. Really
You can go as low as $10
which part of no are you not getting? I do not have the money. I just moved, my husband is lower ranking military and I am a SAHM. When I say no, I really mean it. Please take me off your list because it's a waste of your time and more importantly MINE.
He finally said good-bye and hung up.
Then this morning we got three phone calls about 10 min. Apart. The boys were finally asleep in my bed and I'd gone back to bed. We got one for Jennifer. She owes money. They thought I was her pretending not to be. That ticked me off and I may or may not have cursed at them.
Then a guy called wanting Kevin, Jessica or Jennifer. They got the usual response "What company are you calling from, they can no longer be reached at this phone number and I don't have a forwarding one. If they owe you money you're pretty much SOL. You could call the phone company to see if they have a forwarding phone number. He asked if this was a cell phone. Um no, home phone number and I just moved here after living in Japan for three years and was unfortunately given this number. Believe me, if I had a forwarding number I'd have given it up when you first ask. But I've never met the people at that's probably while they can still walk right now. He laughed, apologized and said he'd make sure his company wouldn't call any more.
Then there was a lady for Cody. Um... He's at work. She said she'd call later and I told her if she's from the magazine company we don't want your damn magazines and you better refund my money you illegally charged or I'm calling the base legal office. All she said was "oh" and I hung up. I may or may not have used curse words in there somewhere. I have the bad habit of cursing a bit when I'm mad.
At that point I couldn't get back to sleep and they had woken up Zach again. Luckily Wes slept through it all because he really needed the sleep more then me or Zach. I'm starting to get mad that they don't take no for an answer and I don't feel guilty hanging up on them any more. A simple, don't want it and take me off your list *click* seems to be working. I did put our phone number on the do not call list though. I might not see results for like 6 months, but hopefully it will eventually work
