Happy Birthday and all that Jazz

Wes and I both had wonderful birthdays. I still haven't ripped the photos from the camera, but figured I should type something here anyway and post photos later.

So for my birthday Cody gave me an Ipod, the boys gave me a PS2 game and all three of them made me a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. We found a babysitter for the night and Cody and I went to catch a movie. We were supposed to go to dinner, but apparently nothing is open on Sundays. Odd. It was a lovely day though and I loved it aside from my house smelling of teenage boy (farts and feet) when we came home. Apparently Zach starting a farting contest with his babysitter and babysitter's friend.

Wes' birthday was not so good. He was a little sick to begin with and he was not happy at all about being a big boy. He kept telling me "No birthday ma. NO BIRTHDAY. I A LITTLE BOY!" He was a little better as the day went on but he didn't want to talk on the phone and he only perked up when he was given presents.

We went to see Wes' friend Cael and I left him there while I picked up his chocolate cake with whipped frosting in a Nemo theme. It was a pretty cool, but not $18 cool. I was a little shocked at the price, but that's what I get for not checking before I ordered it. Dropped the cake off at home and picked up Wes.

Next I took him to the flower shop to pick up some prepaid balloons. He was so excited to see the balloons just thinking they were cool. Then I told them the balloons were his and his eyes just about bugged out of his head. His really nice flower lady tied the balloons to a toy for him and he loved that even more. She calls him her "Wednesday Wesley" or "favorite customer" and he just eats it right up.

Then we had lunch with Cody and Wes was just thrilled to show Cody his super cool balloons and Dora toy.

After Cody came home from work we had some cake with friends and opened some presents. Wes didn't even want to blow out candles because everyone was looking at him and singing. He kept trying to hide behind the presents so we couldn't see him. He perked up once he put some cake in his little belly.

One of the presents we gave Wes was a huge bubble blower. So we took all four kids outside and let them run around with the bubbles blowing. It was adorable to watch them all try to pop the bubbles flooding out of the machine.

After that we took Wes to dinner and called my dad on the way. Good thing too because Wes fell asleep in the car. He didn't wake up at the restaurant, didn't wake up on the way home and didn't wake up once we got home. So the next morning we took him to birthday breakfast since he missed out on birthday dinner.

All in all it was a good birthday I think. Once he got over the being a big boy thing.
