It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Last year was the last year we did a huge Christmas tree. It became too much to take the darn thing out, load it up with lights and ornaments and then take it down again. I hated the way it looked because nothing matched and frankly it just took up too much space in my home.
This year we are doing things a bit differently. Thus far, we have 3 trees up. Each boy has his very own tree in his room that he decorated all by himself. Zach even put the lights on his tree by himself. Wes has been busy rearranging the ornaments on his tree and trying to sneak more ornaments on Zach's tree. Zach has been busy defending his tree from Wesley's attempts at redecoration.
They were both thrilled that their first task from the Christmas count down book was to decorate a tree. Today's task was to create gifts for family members. Unfortunately we didn't get to make as many as we'd like and we'll have to finish it up tomorrow. The Christmas book is a new addition to our holiday traditions. I made it myself out of envelopes and scrapping supplies. Each envelope is filled with a task for the day and then we can write on the front of the envelope what we did if we want to do so. We can even include recipes or photos. I don't plan on filling every envelope with photos/writing at this time, but I think it'll be neat to add to it year by year.
