Zach's back to school picture

This is Zach on the first day of second grade. So far he likes his teacher and he likes his class. There are a few faces from kindergarten and first grade, but it's mostly new people which had me excited. There were a couple of his "friends" that I'm very glad to see in other classes.

He's doing well in school although he doesn't always follow directions very well. We're working on that though. He is the smallest kid in class for the third year in a row and keeps being mistaken for a kindergartener or a first grader. This does not seem to amuse him anymore the way it once did.

He's very excited to start riding the bus home next week. I don't think the bus will be taking him to school though because it leaves our house at 7:30 and school starts at 8:30. I just don't see the point in him getting up that early if I can just drive him to school.

Wes is very jealous that Zach is in school and he isn't. Wes was also upset because so many of his friends from last year went to kindergarten this year and he didn't. I wasn't going to put him back in the part day program, but the $80 a month is worth it if it makes him happier. As an added bonus it gives me time to catch up on homework.
