How young will they get
Saturday we went to the Tmobile store. When we walked in this set of grandparent couple was there to pick up a cell phone for their oh 12 or so granddaughter. One of the ladies helping obviously hadn't worked long because she kept making comments you just don't make when you want people to buy stuff for you. Comments that someone may or may not agree with you on. "I just can't believe how crazy some people get and how much younger will these kids get?" came up a lot.
So we waited our turn and when girl in training and woman that had been there a while asked us what we needed, I replied "I need to add a phone line to my plan for the six year old."
/shock? /backpeddle? oh yeah. it was a little funny too.
So yeah, Zach has his own cell phone. It makes sense for us since we have no home phone anyway. He can have it on whenever he wants on the weekends, otherwise it is turned off unless we are out and about in a store etc. He carries it in his backpack (off) so he can turn it on and call me if he needs to for whatever reason. I can't even begin to describe what it's done for peace of mind, both mine and his.
He's misplaced me in the store before and now instead of "find a mommy to help you" he can pull out his phone, turn it on and call me. We've practiced turning it on and calling mom a lot. All he has to do is press 2 and then it calls me. If he presses 3 he gets Cody's cell, 4 is Cody's work and 5 is one of my friends that would drive out there in a heartbeat to get him where he unable to get me. He knows to go down the list and then start at the top again. We've talked about pulling it out to show it off, it's a tool not a toy, letting people use it etc. Fun times, fun times.
So if you need his number, just shoot me an email and I'll send it your way.
