10 Degrees

It's 10 degrees outside right now which makes being outside absolutely horrid. We came home from a trip to the movies and bookstore and found a new friend. Cody opened the garage and pulled inside and when I opened my door, I heard the distinct sound of a kitty in distress. I went to check the mail and searched around for the animal. I didn't need to look far though because new kitty found us just fine. She left herself in to the garage and rubbed against Cody's ankles as she purred. We took her in to the laundry and fed her.

She knows the sound a wet kitty food bag makes and was thrilled when I shook one open. She gobbled it up rather quick and then set about making the happy claws on Cody's legs. She has no issues with Mouse and rubbed right up against the dog until Mouse got too excited. She liked the cat nip I gave her and the touch of a brush on her fur. She's very at home already but I don't think we can keep her.

We'll be searching for her owner in the morning, but it's 10 degrees outside and New Kitty isn't going out there again.

I must say, I have the bestest husband. He was very concerned about NK and was upset at the thought of some other military person abandoning her to the elements. She's obviously some one's pet and I'm hoping she was just accidentally locked outside instead of abandoned.
